The hotel was Diappointinf as it was under renovation and nothing open, still charged full price. Nothing said about renovations or wouldn’t”t stayed. I would think twice about using bookings.com in further if info not updated.

There's lots of malls in Edmonton and it has one of the lowest tax rates in Canada. You can find almost anything here. Weather in spring, summer and fall is alot better than I thought. Dry and warm and the daylight time is long. A trip of about 4 days is perfect. It's also just a 3 hours drive from Calgary and 4 hours to Banff. Close enough to add a few days to your trip and visit either city. I also fine that there's a fun number of social clubs and social activities. One just needs to look for this before going so that you know which days of the week people meet.

Be careful of what areas you go to.
Be careful of what areas you go to. Some are rougher than others. Lots of fun sites and attractions, but know your route and keep your guard up. Most of the walking trails we have done have been exciting, but again, during the day.

I showed up for my reservation, waited in queue and my turn to checkin came, the front desk woman asked if "I WAS DELIVERY GUY (OR DELIVERING SOMETHING)" basically, she did not think a black man was here to stay in hotel, VERY RACIST !
after booking and confirming my booking (booking.com) and calling hotel to confirm reservation. The hotel refused to accept Visa debit payment, at 10:30 PM, I had to call around and find another place to stay. Already my experience was worse enough even if they did accept my reservation I wouldn't have stayed.

Edmonton is a great city!
Edmonton is a great city! Super affordable with lots of things to do, but you have to plan the time that you come to catch the right events.
People are friendly here, you just have to be aware of yourself as you travel as there are some homeless people downtown - they don't bother you, but its just means you should stay on main streets and you'll be fine.
We stayed three nights so qualified for the third month free. Fantastic value for that expense, but if we had paid roughly 95 bucks for a single night I would still say that it is a decent value. Easy to find and easy access to South Common and, albeit a bit of a drive to West Ed Mall, it was not complex. Many conveniences within a 15 minute walk or two minute drive. Lastly, and most importantly, probably the best shower in any hotel I have ever used. Great showerhead. I am shopping for one LOL.
I would like to thank the management and all staff there as they make our stay so comfortable.Actually, the place is in the middle of West Edmonton Mall and North gate which has many Malls. In addition, the hotel has restaurant for all meals. Also all receptionists are helpful as they give you all information about life in Edmonton including transportation and shopping. We are planning to come back as it's safe and quiet area. Many thanks
Wingate is my go-to hotel when I go to Edmonton. Great location on West End, close to shopping, eating, and the Anthony Hendey for getting in and out of town. The staff are nice, the room is always ready when you arrive, the room is comfortable and always cheaper than the adjacent hotels. Included breakfast and the Homefire Grill in the parking lot
can't go wrong!
Location was great. Appreciated being able to drive to the hotel, park the car and immediately walk over to West Edmonton Mall. The room was large enough for 2 adults + 2 kids. Decent value for money. Trade off is that if you book directly with them then you would get access to discounted tickets to attractions at the mall.
We loved how close it was to a main bus ride down to West Edmonton Mall. It only took 5 min by bus. The pool was a great size for kids to play and they enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the property. Great price for all that you get: breakfast, pool, close to a lot of stores, food.
Hotel staff was amazing! Super kind and great customer service! Was an amazing experience. I would definitely highly recommend this hotel because of how friendly the staff was and the pool was average size but with a big hot tub. Kid friendly. Close to the west Edmonton mall.
the hotel is clean and near amazing location where we really need to go, like the west Edmonton Mall, Kingsway Mall, the Telus and Borden Park. I request for extra pillow and a crib for my baby and it was all ready inside our room. Got a nice breakfast.
The location was excellent, right where I needed to be in downtown Edmonton. The breakfast was good and I really liked getting the receipt under the door early in the morning. Saves me going to the front desk and a lot of hotels don't do this anymore.
I loved the breakfast; it was terrific. The facility and swimming pool were very clean.
I am not so familiar with Edmonton, but I loved the bit that you easily accessed the freeway to the Airport without going through downtown.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was at the south end of Edmonton and the hotel was close to highway to go into Edmonton and to leave to go home after my stay. Only 5 minutes from stores and restaurants.
Room, breakfast are pretty pleasant. Location is awesome. Very close to south common Edmonton where there're a bunch of good restaurants and super market so you have great access to various choices.
